Back to School 2014 - Why Wednesday

Guess What day it is..... Why Wednesday! Whoop Whoop :)

Sorry, ya'll I just had too ;)

I will be the first to admit, I am not that organized, however that does not stop me from teaching my littles how to be organized. My favorite way that I organize is my group organization station!
In the caddy, they store scissors, gluesticks, and pencil sliders that hold pencils and crayons. Inside the drawers are T.R.E.A.T. binders that I made (hopefully on TPT soon), Journals, and Math manipulatives. There is also a trash can behind it, so that all the students can reach it!

I use a crate to elevate the trash can. Each group has one, and at the end of the day, the clean up crew takes the trash out to our large trash can in the bathroom.

Another thing that keeps me organized is using these Monday - Friday drawers. It is the only thing that isn't "my" colors, because I can not live without it. All my resources go in there for the week. Its large, and can hold manipulatives and other items as well. I also have my "Grade, Copy, File" drawers on my desk, and that and my Erin Condren planner keep me organized for the week!

My last organization Item for you is my favorite new "old" piece that I found thrift store shopping. I actually paid a good bit for it, but the money went to breast cancer research so I felt it was justified. I painted it and added cute knobs from hobby lobby (when they were 50 percent off). It is my "Turn it In" station. Last year, my pink basket went everywhere. The kids were always searching to find where to turn in their papers. This helps me stay organized and them! Underneath, I keep their writing portfolios we use for the county.

Thanks for stopping by! Link up with Blog Hoppin to show your organization!

Back to School 2014 - Where Tuesday

Hey ya'll! I'm linking up with blog hoppin again today to show you my classroom :)  I have a treats and sweets themed classroom this year with the colors turquoise, pink, purple, and lime :)

Come on in :)

This is our "Smart Cookie" work, where I put great work with commentary.

Groups, AR board/back door and Unit Focus Board.

I keep the kids SMART goals in those blue folders.

Unit Focus Board close up :)

Birthday board with no pictures, yet! I will take group pictures for each month.

Daily five pillow storage.. (is there any good way to store pillows?), Book boxes and labels for the books I use,  materials for the students to use during Work on Writing and Word Work, and lastly, my library. (Labels on my library cubes are by Erica Bohrer)

Lunchbox storage, bucket fillers, clip chart, and behavior gumballs for each student.

Work on Writing station, Book Bins, Groups for Words their Way, and our classroom jobs are on the purple board.

Our Alphabet is not finished but hopefully it will be this week! This is also my ELA focus Board.

Small Group table, and an empty corner that will be filled with Ipads very soon! YAY :)

Math focus board, math groups and math storage!

My Desk :) Also the computers are hiding beside my desk.

Lastly my favorite made over piece, our turn it in station. Now it never moves :) The kids always have a place to turn in their work, and I store their writing portfolios underneath.

I still have some work to do on the bulletin boards, but it will come together. Tune in the rest of the week to see how I organize my classroom!

Happy Blog Hoppin friends!

Back to School 2014- Who Monday

Hey Y'all! Guess what day it is?!?! WHO MONDAY! I am linking up with Blog Hoppin to talk a little about myself today :)

So a little about me :)

My name is Erin Warren and I teach in South Ga. (It's real hot y'all.. like 100 degrees) I was raised about 30 minutes away, so I am pretty close to my family, and I love it!

I am starting my 8th year teaching this year. I will also be graduating with my Education Specialist's degree in May and I CAN.NOT.WAIT. I am so ready to stop working on graduate work and start working on my TPT store! I teach a gifted and advanced content class. It is by far the hardest class I have ever had to teach. I feel so blessed and I love my job.

Here are some fun facts about me...well I hope they are fun..

1. I love diet coke...and Kind Bars.

2. My favorite color is turquoise...its all over my house.

3. My whole family is involved in Education. (The littlest sister just changed her major to early childhood education..she said she never would..we knew she would...we win:) ) My mom was a teacher and is now a Technology Director, My dad is on the Board of Education, and my middle sister teaches at the elementary school that my school feeds into. We just love school :)

4. I used to work in a shoe store, worked at the vet, and I sold apartments and homes before teaching.

5. My hair is really long, and my hairdresser doesn't want to cut it.

6. I'm obsessed with mascara...No, seriously, I wrote a blog post about it once. I also like to do other people's makeup, just not my own. I did my best friends makeup for her wedding!

7. My classroom is a sweets theme this year, and I can not wait to share my post about it!
I hope you all link up with Blog Hoppin too! I'll be back tomorrow for Tuesday's Blog post!

I have three babies. My Manolo (Named after Manolo Blahnik) is a yorkie, Wicked (named after the musical) is a rescued cat. Zoey (rhymes with Joey from Friends) is a rescue white fluff ball of adorableness. They are my heart.

THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS...

Turquoise. My animals. Cheese dip. Shopping with my family. Instagram. (find me at @theelementarydarling) diet coke, cooking, refinishing furniture and decorating.
